First Announcement 15th MPU CONGRESS

Dear Colleagues,

The upcoming Congress of the Mediterranean Phytopathological Union entitled Plant health sustaining Mediterranean Ecosystemswill be held in Córdoba, Spain, from June 20-23, 2017. The meeting promotes dissemination of the latest scientific advances and encourages dialogue and collaboration between researchers interested in all aspects of Phytopathology. The conference language is English.

A detailed scientific program will be available in January 2017. Plenary, concurrent and poster sessions will be held on key topics such as Genome Analysis; Invasive Emerging Pathogens; Integrated Disease Management; Food Safety, New Tools In Diagnostics And Management; Molecular Pathogen-Host Interactions; Impact Of Climate Change; Biocontrol, Natural Compounds And Plant Stimulants; Epidemiology And Modelling; and Microbiomes In Plant Health. The meeting proceedings will be published in the international journal Phytopathologia Mediterranea.

A number of abstracts presented as poster contributions will be selected for short oral presentation and discussion. Be sure to submit your abstract before the deadline to have the opportunity to present your research and get feedback from a broad audience of scientific peers. Participation of young researchers is strongly encouraged, and reduced registration rates are available for students and fellows.

Cordoba is located in the heart of Andalusia in Southern Spain and features a unique combination of Roman, Arabic, Jewish and Christian heritage, including UNESCO heritage historical monuments. It is also a young and vibrant city with modern shopping areas, an outstanding Mediterranean gastronomy and a privileged climate. Major airports such as Madrid, Seville and Malaga are within 1-2 h distance and are well connected by high speed train. The Organizing Committee is working to provide attendees not only with a top scientific program, but also with social activities that allow you to enjoy the unique flavors of our city.
